Sometimes you just have to boss up. Seriously, us girls we think way too much about everything. We don't want to just put ourselves out there sometimes because we don't know what the result is going to be. The summertime is the best time for bossing up and making moves. Time to refresh your thoughts like a fresh glass of lemonade and just do your thang! Summer weather is a great time to do new things. Get that hair cut you wanted, go crazy wearing colors to brighten up your spirit and have fun as all girls should. Three months of summer goes by quickly. What's the one spontaneous thing you would like to do this summer? What're the new goals you have set for yourself? Live fearlessly, let your hair down. One of the things I want to do is live like a superstar this summer. I know, y’all are like WHAT??? But yes, I want to hang hard, party with my girls, dance my life away, and wake up and do the same thing again. Yes, I know the real-life calls but after a current hour, I'm calling quits to the real life. I'm calling the shots. No time to think too hard on it or I just might sike myself out of it. So here I go... I'm bossing it up!
To all my young ladies be responsible while having fun this summer.
Speak positivity into your everyday life.
One of the hardest things to do is love yourself. Some may disagree because they feel like, no I’m the BOOM! Rightfully so, us girls we do ROCK. You might carry that attitude on the outside where you have the spotlight. Everyone is watching you and liking what they see. Hair done, nails done, nice outfits with the attitude to draw everyone’s attention. As girls that does make us favorable. Does the outside always define, who we are? The level of confidence, you should have, should lead from within. We do carry people’s thoughts about us and make them a fracture in our everyday lives. From the decisions you make, that alone changes how we look at ourselves. But the big question is how we overcome the thought process of others’ expectations of us. People around us put expectations on us. But how do we start getting in line with our own thoughts and display our true being without feeling like the way you are is not enough?
Tell yourself something great about yourself every day and lead with that.
My lead for today is, “I’m perfect to do what is set forth for me to do today”.
• Go treat yourself (it could be anything that makes you smile).
• Read and fill your mind with positive thoughts even in bad or rough times.
• Tell yourself you have the strength to go forward in whatever you chose in life and believe in it.
• Take steps in a spiritual journey with yourself.
• Ask yourself, what you would like out of today. Think at the moment. What would you like to see happen today and speak it to existence?
• Determine the person you would like to be or become.
• Think big but, take small steps to have a proactive result.
These are just a few things I started to do. It helps so much when you wake up with a focus and a mindset of positivity. Not all days are the best but, your thought process can help you overcome it. Nothing about a spiritual journey of loving yourself is easy or perfect. But you are the perfect person for the journey. I’m feeling myself now, tomorrow, and many more days to come. Why? Because there’s no greater purpose in love, then to love yourself first so that you are able to share the love with others and build loving, caring and everlasting bonds.
Speak positive in your everyday life.
Being a girl is awesome on so many levels. We're not only stylish, smart, and great leaders, we have the ability to be divine without even trying hard. Every girl brings something special and unique to the table. From a young lady to a grown-up woman our crowns never stay crooked. We have the grace that speaks volumes. We have a shine that lights up the room and we have a voice that conquers attention from ALL! Our walk is a movement. The runway is our playground.
Our knowledge comes with wisdom. Wisdom gives us the power to play important roles in many lives. We multitask and never skip a beat. We learn from a young age how to be seen. No one can deny a GIRL'S role in life. We're not only princesses that become queens with speechless beauty, we are chosen to be the being that no man can be without. A world with no girls can’t be seen. Never underestimate the power of our existence.
So, clap your hands and stomp your feet. Yell to the top of your lungs that us girls are here to stay. We are just getting started! Who are we? GIRLS!
The countdown begins until Halloween. It's officially October, and we are having pumpkin fever. What are the plans for this Halloween? Will you be scaring souls with the spooky stories, or will you be skippy away door to door collecting all the candy you can get? I love playing tricks on my girls. They can't stand it, but it's my little payback for all the days they drive me crazy. Just a little mom humor won't hurt anybody. LOL! In the meantime, before we go trick-or-treating, we get fall festive. We visit farms, do a little apple and pumpkin picking, and of course, we carve some pumpkins. My girls love that. We also get invited to a ton of Halloween parties for some more fun. I think this year I'm going to be a cat. It's an old but classic costume that looks cute and fearless for the Halloween Spooks. What will you be this Halloween? Is it all about the trick or do you have some treats in store for yourself/ family?
As girls, we pick ourselves apart. Society has a way of telling us what to wear and how a girl/women should physically represent herself. I think NOT! When I was younger, I use to fall victim to society's upkeeps. I came out that bubble fast. It was to much work to have people or anyone tell me what my style is, which can lead to self-esteem issues. Put on makeup and always wear it, or even tell me how to dress. I MAKE THE RULES when it comes to my style. That's what makes me, me.
When I had my daughters, I knew for sure that I was going to teach them the same thing. Lead by example, and let a girl know that its okay to be different. It's okay not to keep up with society must do's and don'ts. When the American singer-songwriter and musician Alicia Keys decided not to wear any makeup anymore, it was an eye-opener for myself and for many girls/ women. Beauty does not define how pretty your face is covered up. Although I am one who does wear makeup, I DECIDE when, where and how long.
I Make The Rules! Beauty & Brains! Just Call Me Pretty! This goes for all girls.
Raise your hand if you struggle with feeling motivated at times. Girls, it's the story of my life. Sometimes you're on full blast, and then something happens that makes you feel low. All the what-ifs and stepping struggles to get to the victory line. One minute you are high, and then you go low. We all go through it. The question is how do you push through? How do you tell yourself you can do it?
Take a time out! Now that doesn't mean give up or completely stop working towards your goals or dreams. It means walk away, rehabilitate and start again or pick up where you left off. As girls, big or small, our mind goes ham. Literally! It's like, putting that ham in the oven and overcooking it and then it all burn and hard. We love to burn ourselves out. Stress is real. Your struggles are real. Master things at a pace not all at once. Try to remind yourself, you can and you will. I'll be the first to start today. How about you?
Fall is on its way. We have some goodies in store for you. New fall items will be released Monday 9/24/18. Here at Colors Of A Girl, we highlight all girls for their beauty and how special they are. When you have a vision, a dream, or even just a beginning thought of a new venture you want everything to be perfect. You can see your ideas played out. You tell yourself this is going to work. It will be great and people will like your idea. You get into the groove of things. Everything is set up ready to go. You spread the word to tell you are here. Look at you shining. When things take a turn, you don't feel so bright, you doubt yourself. You start to ask yourself different questions like, what am I doing wrong. How come? Then you start to believe maybe your dream isn't what you thought. Maybe its just not meant to be. It's time to try something different or give up. In that moment of doubt, it's easy to give up. You'll find every reason why you shouldn't instead of every reason why you should. Everything around you is proving to you maybe you should give up. But as you look for the satisfaction to make everyone else love your idea, believe in it, and support it, you forgot to do so yourself. You forgot consistency is key to success. Keep moving and keep pushing through. Yes, the pumps and bruises will hurt. Yes, all lesson you might feel like you can do without them. Yes, sometimes it's not easy. But do you want it if it is? Do you want simple in every aspect of your life? Or do you want the confidence, the inner fight, positive spirit and a graceful outlook on your life to push yourself? Be you! Stop looking for everyone to notice and accept you before you accept yourself. Focus! Don't give up. You will succeed. You have to fight the challenge. It may be more than one battle, but no one loses every single time when they believe and step out their comfort zone and FIGHT TO WIN! Whatever You Do Just Be yourself and go get your dream.
Our new items were inspired by showing girls true colors. No one can damper your shine! Follow your own rainbow and be motivated to be someone great, just the way you are. Have fun with being you. Have a little sass, be over the top, and be a star. Even as an adult I have to remind myself of these things. Life is work and can be very hard at times, but it can also bring so much joy and rewards. Go ahead and live out loud and proud. Shot out to the world, you are here and you're not going anywhere!
